Langkamer
Langkamer’s fourth album ‘No’ is a vision unclouded. Recorded in the hills of Southern Spain at Zarzalico with veteran producer Remko Schouten, it’s the product of a pace of life too frenetic to count, too irregular to measure. If their back catalogue has often veered between heart-on-sleeve slacker rock to folk balladry, ‘No’ captures this life of contradictions, kicks and struggle. It moves without a care between heavy proto-punk and nervy alt-country, as the band give their desperation and defiance a new urgency, a motion against the constantly beating sun.
However, this manic environment is nothing new for the bristol quartet. Prodigiously gigging over the last five years, they have played sold-out rooms across the UK and Europe, as well as playing support slots for Mystery Jets, Jeffrey Lewis, Juan Waters, getdown Services, Ratboys, Willie J Healey, Fenne Lily, and Opus Kink.
The release of ‘No’ comes following press and radio support from the likes of Uncut, Brooklyn Vegan, BBC Radio 6Music (Huw Stevens, Mark Radcliffe, Steve Lamacq, and Tom Robinson), Radio X (John Kennedy), So Young, Rough Trade Counter Culture, Blogotheque, Morning Star, Wax Music and Clunk.
